Vietnam Airway

Vietnam Airway has the stable speed of development from 1980 base on the foundation from 1956 with 5 planes. More than 30 years from that time, Vietnam Airway brings to the passengers a lot of things in the services. At this time, there are 4 airlines that operating. They are Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar Pacific Airlines, VASCO and Vietjet Air. 


About the airlines in Vietnam:


Vietnam Airlines (VNA): the national airlines that is considered the biggest airlines in the country. It was established in 1956 with the main offices in Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh City and Noi Bai Airport in Ha Noi Capital. There is the system of 90 planes in Vietnam Airlines to serve passengers. The airlines do the routes including 21 domestic routes with ten of flights per day to popular destination, 14 routes to North East Asia, 6 routes to South East Asia, 11 routes to Europe, and some other destinations in the world.  

Jetstar Pacific Airlines (BL): the join stock aviation company belongs to Qantas. The company was established in 1991. This is the first cheap airlines in Vietnam. There are 13 planes to serve passengers. Jetstar Pacific Airlines has its main office in Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh City. It opens 15 domestic routes to important destination in the country and 3 international routes to Singapore, Bangkok and Macau.

VASCO (0V): the aviation company was established in 1987 that serves mostly the flights in the South of the country and from the land to the islands. The airline focuses on the fights to tourism area with the main routes to 6 important domestic destinations. VASCO has the main planes included ATR 72 and it has the main office in Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh City.

VietJet (VJ): the join stock aviation company was established in 2007. This is the first private airlines in Vietnam Nam. The airline has more than 20 of planes. The domestic destinations in the country are 15 and the international destinations of the airlines are 6 included Bangkok in Thailand, Siem Reap in Cambodia, Singapore, and Seoul in Korea, Vladivostok and Taiwan. 


About the airports in Vietnam

There are 21 airports in Vietnam in which 9 international airports. The list of the international airports for the reference as below:
Three biggest airports in the country:

  1. Da Nang Airport: located in Hai Chau District and far from Da Nang center about 3km.
  2. Noi Bai Airport: located in Soc Son Town and far from Ha Noi center about 30km in the old route for transfer and about 15km following the new routes from 2014.
  3. Tan Son Nhat Airport: located in Tan Binh District and far from center city about 8km.

Other airports:
  1. Can Tho Airport: located in Binh Thuy District, Can Tho City
  2. Cam Ranh Airport: located in Nguyen Tat Thanh Street, in Cam Ranh City and far from Nha Trang Center about 30km.
  3. Phu Quoc Airport: located in Duong To Commune, Phu Quoc Island and far from Duong Dong Town center in this island about 5km.
  4. Vinh Airport: located in Nghi Lien, Vinh City and far from Vinh city center about 7km.
  5. Chu Lai Airport: located in Chu Lai Open Economic Zone, Tam Nghia Commune, Nui Thanh Town, Quang Nam Province. The airport is far from Tam Ky city center about 25km and more than 80km to Hoi An Ancient Town.
  6. Phu Bai Airport: located in Phu Bai Ward, Huong Thuy Commune, Hue City and far from Hue City center about 15km.
